Ms. Kathy made an awesome poetry scavenger hunt for the kids to do. So far, 30 kids completed it! She picked out some fun poems from our poetry books, laminated them, and hid them around the youth services part of the library. Kids grabbed a scavenger hunt sheet and used the clues to find each poem, writing down the title of the poem (and hopefully reading all of the poems). Parents really enjoyed doing this with their children, you could hear them sharing stories of their experiences with poetry, their favorites, and what they like about poetry. The kids returned their sheets for sparkly psychedelic colored slap bracelets. This was a fun activity for passive programming that we implemented during National Poetry Month.
